Children’s Garden Nursery

Children’s Garden Nursery is the newest addition to NEWTEC’s chain of nurseries located at the University of East London, Docklands Campus. It benefits from fabulous waterfront views and provides a beautiful, peaceful environment where learning and exploration can be nurtured.
The spacious landscaped garden offers a natural climbing frame, sand pit, play hut as well as grassy hills, trees and flowers.
We have a large and very lovely outdoor area. Children see wide expanses of sky and water in the background, and have views of boats and aeroplanes (very popular!).

The Early Years Foundation Stage

All the children learn within the Early Years Foundation Stage framework. The EYFS is a framework that delivers the guidance for and legal requirements of all Early Years practitioners when they are supporting and guiding learning and development of children in their care.

The EYFS covers 7 areas of learning such as:

  • Communication and Language;
  • Physical Development;
  • Personal, Social and Emotional Development.
  • Literacy;
  • Mathematics;
  • Understanding the World and
  • Expressive Arts and Design.

Children in the EYFS learn by playing and exploring, being active, and through creative and critical thinking which takes place both indoors and outside.
Progressions of children are tracked and monitored using the EYFS Tracker and children’s Special Book. Parents/carers are welcome to read their children’s record at any time.
